They will spend their holiday at Waunlai Cottage with Lisa and Luke. We restrict this service to 3 dogs so that your much love pet receives their undivided attention. They will live as family pets, have their own beds in the lounge, go for walks with their show dogs and be treated the same as Champions.
A Holiday, a wedding, a long weekend break, a hospital appointment or a day trip – these are all times when dog owners can find it difficult to organise suitable arrangements for their much loved pet.
Some owners actually dislike ‘traditional’ kennelling for their dog which makes the situation even more difficult. And some dogs actually dislike BEING kennelled in the ‘traditional’ manner which is even more distressing for the owner!
So what other option, other than a handy neighbour(who could leave the door open by accident) or professional house-sitter ( who could be nosey) not forgetting none of these have insurance to look after your pet or the personal experience and dedication that all Gilcoru staff provide . However, unlike conventional Boarding Kennel services, your dog will experience a completely different type of break here at Waunlai Cottage, enjoying a fun and relaxing time at his/her own personal Country Retreat!

Doggie guests are guaranteed lots and lots of attention from both Lisa and Luke. Your pet will be pampered and loved in the same manner as their own show dogs. Gilcoru Stifler (beagle), Gilcoru Ocean (Briard) and Soletrader cool hand Luke at Gilcoru (P.B.G.V).
Let’s take a look at a regular day at ‘home from home’:-
They will live as family pets, have their own beds in the lounge, go for walks with their show dogs in the morning before they start work for half and hour, come back have their breakfast, and then just chill out in front of the fire or telly.
12.30 A few treats for dinner and a 10 minute play in the field with the other dogs.
1-3 Chill out with the other dogs in the lounge.
5pm evening walk will take your dog along the common situated next door to Waunlai Cottages the dogs will be walked on 10 meter flexi lead in a very open and expansive country walk, they will be able to walk along side the local residents (horses)., also they will meet the other dog walkers who love to help your dog know the area. The walk will take roughly 40mins and this will help them work up an appetite for an evening meal.
After dinner, there’s a generous period of playtime with your dog’s favourite ball or toy should they desire or granny nap on the lounge floor/sofa where they will be able to watch whatever TV channel is on.
Then after a busy and exciting day, your dog will be left to snuggle into bed in the lounge where some calming music and a night light will be left on to ease them into a good night sleep and prepare them for the next day.

We ask you to bring your own food and toys to settle them into their all-inclusive holiday.
If you are a regular grooming client or boarder at Gilcoru then your dog already knows Lisa and Luke very well, and will be much more relaxed staying with someone they already know.
Why not take the opportunity to have your dog bathed & tidied up whilst they are here at a small additional charge, or even given a full Groom at regular Posh Paws charges.

• All dog’s will be exercised strictly ‘on lead’ when on the country walk for safety purposes.
• All food & dog’s own toys to be supplied by owner.
• Gilcoru is a fully insured business that has been est. 25 years +.
• Full Day Rate is £25 with half day, or parts thereof, charged pro-rata.
• All dogs must be vaccinated, with boosters up to date and have received a Kennel Cough inoculation prior to boarding
• All dog’s must be social to other dogs/staff
• Larger breeds are charged at a higher rate
• Collection and delivery is available but charge accordingly (Cardiff £30 each way, Newport 40 each way, Swansea £50 E.W, Bristol £60 E.W.)
